I don't think I'm the epicurian most of you are, hence my moniker, but I'd like to post and give some impressions of my weekend in Vegas.

MON AMI GABI--Arrived for dinner on Thursday, only to find the entire outside was reserved for a Microsoft private party (Damn you Bill Gates!). Dined inside and had a delicious Steak Classique. Ordered a $50 Pinot Noir but thought it tasted "off". I sent it back, which is something I have never done in my life. The manager very courteously responded saying I was probably used to a "California" Pinot and recommended a Rhone wine, which was actually less expensive. Enjoyed that very much and came away with another great feeling from dining at this fine establishment.

PAMPALMOUSSE--One of the finest dining experiences I have had. Nothing to speak of from the outside, but a charming French bistro inside. Spoken menu, I had the duck, and my wife had a special with scallops in some pastry that was offered as an appetizer and made as a main dis by request. I asked the waiter for a wine selection (didn't want to amke the same mistake two days in a row) and he recommended a $30 bottle despite I mentioned my budget was higher. Delicious choice. I can't say enough about this restaurant, despite we spent 2 1/2 hours there, I felt like I left too soon, but had to as we had Manilow tickets.

MON AMI GABI--Well, I had to go back and sit outside for lunch. The Brie Burger was simply the finest hamburger I ever had in my life, love those frittes, a delicious Rose was a perfect pairing, and the fountains across the strip were an ideal floor show. I will always go back to this restaurant anytime I'm in town.

Service was A+ at both restaurants. I just felt I had to post as I was so pleased with these two establishments.
