Chowhound Opinions of Chinese Restaurants--U Rate 'um

I thought it might be interesting and useful to compile everybody's thoughts on local Chinese restaurants, in a cogent and straightforward way. Sort of a Chowhound Chinese restaurant index. So here's my proposal. Let's have everyone who wishes to participate post his/her own numerical food ratings for the Chinese restaurants he/she knows. Since many folks here have been to Joe's Noodle House and clearly think it's good, let's arbitrarily say that Joe's rates 50 points. Let's say that your local hash slinger place rates 10 (Panda Express?). Then rate others on the same scale (could be higher than Joe's).

To keep the numbers down, I suggest only the following often-mentioned places be included, but if you feel some other(s) should also be included go ahead. In no particular order, in addition to Joe's Noodle House:

Bob's Noodle 66
Seven Seas
Formosa Cafe
Mark's Duck House
Fortune (at 7 Corners)
Good Fortune (Wheaton)
New Fortune (Gaithersburg)
Oriental East
A+J (2 locations?)
Hollywood East
Hope Key
P F Chang
Peking Eastern
Meiwah
Eat First

If you haven't been to Joe's, pick a fairly popular one from the list and designate it as your "50", then base your ratings on that. They can be re-indexed later based on how that restaurant does overall.

Do the ratings based on food quality. Decor, service, and price should have minimal or no weight. If your rating relates specifically to dim sum, note that.

If this works and there's enough interest, maybe we can try it later with other groupings.

Calling all lurkers. You too!

I know--numerical ratings have many faults. I would agree--it's probably the worst system to do restaurant ratings that's ever been invented, except for all the others (with apologies to Winston Churchill)
