Chowhound Guide

O.K. - you did it!! I just purchased and read the Chowhound Guide to the San Francisco Bay Area. First, a great big thank you to Melanie Wong. You have been tireless in promoting the true Chowhound spirit and the listings in the guide clearly reflect your culinary sensitivity. BUT .....of course there has to be a but. Like all "best of guides" you are going to leave something out. I'm not arguing what the guide includes but what was not included. For example, a very special Chowhound butcher is Bobby Lee's Smoke House in Hayward. Bobby Lee is a total down home smoke house that carries over 500 smoked meats and sausages. He carries over 30 varities of links and sausages, 10 types of bacon, and whole smoked turkeys, chickens, ribs and tritip. Another omission La Taqueria in the S.F. Mission. Who makes a better carne asada than La Taqueria? And what about Bo's Barbeque in Lafayette. Bo's may be whitemans land, but it the best B.Q. in the Bay-area. Anyway, lots of luck with the guide and Melanie thank you again for all you good work.
