Well, Dave, and others who warned me. I'm eating my hat because it's a better choice! We were in CT last week and actually looked for Montowese St to try Sam's Dockside and avoid Chowderpot, but for whatever reason mapless though I was, we could not find it. So, Chowderpot after all these years it was. What can I say, but you naysayers were absolutely right. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to get in which is astonishing to me. The lobster bisque tasted like a fish flavored roux. There must have been 3 TBSP of flour in my poor little cup. I ordered whole belly clams. When they came the waitress said, oh, these are strips. I looked and agreed. She came back and said they were "running small". They tasted like strips. French fries, I am pretty sure were crinkle cut by McCain from your grocer's freezer. Yukko! My daughter ordered a seafood fettuccini that was so large I would have served it to our entire family had I made it. How large is THAT? So large, it was disgusting to look at on the table! Talk about "supersize me"! What was good? The waitress whose name was "Capri". She asked me how it was and I ended up telling her I was just "underwealmed". She asked if I wanted the manager and I told her there was no point because we would not be back. Well, she brought him over anyway and asked him to take my meal off the bill. He did so and I must say he understood my complaint and promised that should we return he'd personally be sure I got a good meal. We did not return. I was definately impressed with how they handled it, but I doubt the meal would have been much better. I ate clams several times that week and funny, but chowderpot was the only place where they seemed to be "running small". Everyone else had gorgeous clams. Next summer, I will have to try harder to find Sam's Dockside! Thanks to all who warned me, I got what I deserved for not listening to you harder!! Road weary people do some crazy things!
