Chowathon Update

Vital Information | Mar 13, 2002 09:01 AM

Here's an update thread for those not using hot posts or otherwise checking older posts.

24 hours of chow is happening and happening soon. There is a committment from several well known freshers to make it through the entire 24 eating marathon. In addition, a few other people with, say other committments, have signed on for a partial ride.

While I cannot, per se, imagine limiting the event, there is obvious transportation considerations as more people sign up. So, we would like to get some firm committments soon. If you have not already e-mailed me, please do. As described below, please indictate how you want to participate. It is very important to e-mail me and not just comment on this board so we can make detailed plans and exchange personal informaiton as needed.

Essentially, you will have three options: Stick around from start to finish; travel with us for a designated perod or meet up with us at one spot.

If you are going for less than the full ride, please tell me what you want. For instance, Joan has said she wants to join from this hour to that hour. She has also requested to be there for taxi-cab chow.

Once we have an idea of who wants what, we can firm up various issues like timing and transportation.

Rememember, there will also be possibilities for last minute straglers, but you will have to work around the schedule established. If you want to effect things, now is your time. Your ideas are still welcome!

Finally, this idea has attracted some interest from some other boards. We are still all in favor of having goodwill donations made to chowhound in honor of our quest.

Rob
