I am looking for a recommendation for a restaurant in West LA, Bev Hills. The food needs to be good, but not in the Lucques class. The type of cuisine is not really so important. It should not be overly formal, or a restaurant that is hard to get into. There are 2 requirements. It needs to have a good diverse wine list, and not outrageous prices, and it needs to be well lit. The 6 or so people will be passing around small items for each other to view before and during dinner ( think stamp collectors ) so lighting is important, as is an atmosphere which would not frown upon this.
Ideally, entrees would not be much over the $20.00 - $25.00 range.
