I'm a choker- can't decide what cake to make tonight

Help! I love to bake cakes but I'm coming up blank here. I need to make the cake late this afternoon/tonight. It's for an outdoor party Sat night, so it can't have significant last minute steps and it must hold 24 hours. My Mom is making brownies, so it can't be chocolate cake (or we wouldn't be having this discussion). I would like it to incorporate some of the gorgeous raspberries, blackberries and blueberries I have access to. It wants to be a cake...i don't think the boys like frou-frou tarts.

I considered a loaf pound cake sliced horizontally and filled w/ berries, lemon curd, and whipped cream, iced with whipped cream, but I don't think the cream will hold 24 hours and a 15 mi car trip to the party. I read the thread about gelatin in whipped cream but it didn't have enough details.

My husband wants coconut cake, but that seems like Christmas to me. He also says he's sick of lemon curd

I've printed a couple of recipes off EPI but that's always scary. If anyone has made:

Mixed-berry chiffon cake w/ almond cream cheese frosting from Bon Appetit;

Mixed-berry and white choc buttercream cake;

or Blueberry and orange layer cake w/ cream cheese frosting

....I'd love to hear about it.

Or any other great recipes w/ a non-choc cake and berries.

Also, I may use "light" butter in the frosting (don't worry, I know not to use it int he cake)...will this affect the stiffness of the frosting?
