I'm new to the boards and this particular topic nagged me such that I had to create a new account to have it answered.
Like many people in the (SF) Valley, I was really saddened to see Leda's Bake Shop (formerly in Sherman Oaks) close up shop. Though the cupcakes were tasty, what I REALLY loved were the cookies. I was particularly in love with her vegan chocolate chip cookie--just slightly crispy when you bite into it but overall very soft, chewy and moist throughout. I'm not vegan, but I absolutely LOVED those things.
Now, knowing that Leda's is unlikely ever to reopen, I am wondering if anyone knows of a bakery that made a chocolate chip cookie that was similar to Leda's in consistency and as good or better in taste. I would prefer a place in the East Valley but am happy to try out places on the Westside, Hollywood or SGV if they offer comparable deliciousness.
