More Chinese in the Triangle

Bob | Nov 2, 2003 04:33 PM

I had lunch at MaMa Wok today. At 11:30 on Sunday morning they had a pretty good crowd. About 15 of 20 tables were occupied. I was the only non oriental in the place. As I walked in I noticed that their specials board was all in chinese. I was given the standard Americanized lunch menu which I ordered off of. The food was all good.

As I was leaving I picked up a to go menu. Actually there were two. One with the standard American fare and one that appears to be more authentic. The appetizers include things like jelly fish, chrispy squid, smoked meats, tripe and salted duck. There are a number of hot pots and casserols, items that contain pickled cabbage, tofu and bean curd, steamed fish and a number of rice and noodle dishes.

It is located at 986 High House Rd in the shopping center. Phone 919-319-1818.
