a chinese tofu knots dish. my housemate is enamoured of it.
for those who haven't had this dish (i haven't either), from what i understand its a celestial combination of the thin sheets of bean curd tied into knots, with scallions, sitting in a small amount of soy-flavored broth full of unguessable items. we made a small attempt yesterday that was good, but we'd love to replicate the dish in its entirety and achieve Chinese-style perfection. I have no idea if it's a traditional dish or not since i'm ethnically chinese but i've never seen/heard of it before.
would anyone like to hazard a guess as to the ingredients for this dish, or if you have other recipe ideas for tofu knots in general, that'd be delightful. thanks in advance.
