Two Chinese resto along El Camino Real: Zen and Lucky Buddha.

Peter | Jan 5, 200511:49 AM

Zen Peninsula, 1180 El Camino Real (couple of blocks north of Fook Yuen), Milbrae. Lucky Buddha, 1050 El Camino Real, San Carlos.

Bro In Law took us to Zen. This is our first time. We had one of the family dinners. There wasn't a chance to try any of their signature dishes. It's definitely a place to go back again. They do serve dim sum, carts on weekends, order from menu on weekdays. This area is fast becoming a nice Chinese restaurant enclave.

Lucky Buddha has some very interesting dishes. We ordered soup of the day (old fire soup), lamb stew, salted fish and meat patty, frog legs old fashioned, dry scallop and egg white scramble, long beans and olive stir fry. And a couple of others. They have a couple of special dishes you have to pre-order: winter melon soup and Portuguese style baked chicken.

This place is pretty much our standard Chinese place for mid peninsula.
