A few years ago the cousin and I discovered this place in KC, on Barry, very near the "Star Trek-ish movie theatre we like. Okay...I know its just another Chinese Buffet, but they had a peanut chicken there that was amazing, it was bits of chicken rolled in what seemed to be ground peanuts, and then cooked (fried?)...surprisingly addictive. We loved to roadtrip to KC to see a movie, browse the bookstores, and eat what we fondly refer to as 'crack chicken.'
Yesterday my cousin and some friends drove to Kansas City (from Springfield, MO) to see Star Wars and feast on peanut chicken and found, to their horror, that the Chinese place had closed. Anybody know anything? Did they move? (Oh please, say they just moved...)Did they just, please say it isn't so, close their doors?
As you can see, we are distraught. If you know of another source for our drug of choice, we'd love to hear about that, too. We aren't particularly looking for the usual chicken in a peanut-butter sauce but for the kind we found at our beloved Chinese Garden.
And yes, I know...MOST people go to KC for the barbeque...we eat that while we're there, too. Lots of it.
