I am a Minneapolis chowhound and I have been asked by my parents-in-law in the New York area to identify a great Chinese place in Flushing for a 60th birthday party. We are probably leaning more toward a place that specializes in Hong Kong style cooking (but are open to other regions). While we will order a number of different things we want a place that is excellent for seafood and vegetarian dishes.
It will be a group of 20 people, and the group is mixed between adventurous eaters and some who are less so. We do not need a private room, but want to make sure it is a place that can handle larger groups.
I have scrolled quite a bit through this board, and a number of places have been recommended, including Spicy and Tasty, East Lake, East Buffet, Joe's Shangai, New Lok Kee, Fay Da, and Gum Fung. Which of these, or any others, would be best for what we are looking for?
