Chicago chowhound needs advice for Vancouver

Ligament | Mar 1, 2004 12:07 PM

Hi All,

I am a Chicago Chowhound looking for recommendations in Vancouver. I will be in Vancouver April 3-April 10 of '04.

Primarily I am looking for the top "ethnic" food in the city. I am not looking for fine dining necessarily.

I have already eaten at Tojo's a few times and at Vij's, and although I love Tojo's, would like to try some other places.

I am looking for any sort of Asian food, particularly places focusing on seafood. I would really enjoy a good Izakaya, vietnamese bahn mi shop, Shanghai style street food, real schichuan with gallons of chili oil floating on everything, etc. The weirder and more esoteric the better.

Of course I am also interested in regional specialties, whatever you may deem those to be.

Any recs?

Best, Jason aka Ligament on the Chicago board
