I saw for the first time and bought some of Trader Joe's frozen roasted chestnuts the other day and was disappointed with their texture. Did I just get a bad batch or was I expecting too much? The meat of the nut was, like, pithy or something in texture and did not hold together. The flavor was not bad, just the texture.
Has anyone else bought them?
Other possibilities of cutting corners for roasted chestnuts with good results?
