Last Wednesday I went to Chestnut (on Smith and Degraw) to partake in their $25 special(they have it on Tuesday as well). I had a delicious appetizer of squash flowers lightly fried in batter stuffed with saffron rice on a bed of crisp tangy greens. Next came blackfish topped with pickled radishes over bok choy. The whole dish was held together by a creamy seafood broth. Homemade butter pecan ice cream was my choice for dessert. There was clearly a lot of love put into the cooking. As far as ambiance goes, there was soulful jazz playing over the speakers and the lighting was mood perfect. The whole experience was sublime.
