I was biking around in Harlem yesterday and stumbled across a man, wearing full chef's regalia, with a charcoal grill set up on the sidewalk. He was cooking the most amazing chicken kabobs and chili hot dogs. He said his name was Chef White and that he was the in-house chef for a downtown law firm during the week, but that he had just started selling food on the streets on Saturdays. He told us that earlier in the day he had hamburgers, crabcakes and other kabobs, but that he'd sold out. Prices were very reasonable, about $2 for most items. Highly recommended for anyone in the neighborhood, or looking for a reason to travel to Harlem.
