Cheesecake Factory, can't defend it anymore

After 2 excellent meals to start off, my last 2 experiences at the cheesecake factory have been quite mediocre and I just can't defend it any more. I had been arguing (no just on chowhound) that it was better than your average chain, that the prices were not that bad, and the the food was not gourmet, but still outstanding.

During both visits various people in our party got soggy fish and chips, a pasty sticky pasta dish, tasteless spinach artichoke dip, and some dishes with that heat lamp dryness that comes when a meal was finished before all the others and has to wait. The huge variety in the menu is neat and all, but it's almost like they are trying to do too much. I just can't see spending $4.50 for lemonade any longer

I still love the buffalo blasts and avocado egg rolls. And the service is excellent. I want to like the place, but just can't do it any longer.

We'll be relegated to bringing home cheesecake to go occasionally when we're in that area.

Anyone else in the same boat? Did they actually decline in quality (Philly area) recently?
