i'm not sure when these became available, but i recently went to brodard in little saigon. they had $1 macarons, as well as some petite cakes, to make up for the lack of vietnamese yogurt (da ua). according to them, the supplier had a health violation so he can no longer sell vietnamese yogurt.
for a $1 a piece, they're actually not that bad. there are 5 different kinds. although, the yellow one is durian flavor and since durian is strong to begin with, either you like it or you don't.
i also walked around the plaza. if you haven't been, the place is expanding so you may encounter some construction. i noticed in the front there is a restaurant with black walls. i was intrigued only because it had a open kitchen. i wish i could recall the name so i could ask if anyone's been, but looking inside, there was mostly male customers sitting and watching the tv. only one person actually had food and was eating at the time.
anyways, just passing this on...
