Charming Le Charm

On Sunday evening, we went to Le Charm for an early dinner. I chose Le Charm after reading Joan's post from awhile back (see link below).

Overall I think it was a great value - pri fixe menu of $28 which included appetizer, main course, and dessert.

My husband and I both had the traditional French Onion Soup as the first course - a treat for his sore throat. It was perfectly cheesy and not too salty.

I had the Marinated Bavette Steak with Pommes Macaire (basically thin sliced potatoes sauteed and served pancake style). The meat was well marinated and very tender. Portions were very generous.

He had the Roasted Halibut with Tomato Confit and Mixed Herbs - it was just okay - after tasting the steak my husband wished he had ordered that instead. I thought the fish was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. Just an 'ok' dish.

For dessert I had the Napoleon with the Almond Creme - very good. Even better were the Warm Lemon Curd Crepes - order the chocolate sauce on the side so you can better enjoy the lemon flavor of the crepes.

A cute little place that we enjoyed - the place was packed by 6 PM and I'm happy business seems to be good for them.
