Chaozhou Noodles, at a Vietnam Chaozhou Venue called Bo Ke ( Po Ji )

jonkyo | Dec 16, 201404:43 PM

First off stay away from the sriracha hot sauce, as the in house made chilli sauces are great.

They are Vietnamese of Chaozhou origin (ancestry).

Choazhou is a city in Guangdong Province China. It is an old city with its own local culture, that includes food.

This is from a Chaozhou people owned restaurant in NYC called Bo Ky (that is actually Canton and Chaozhou pronunciation. In Mandarin it is Po Ji: 波記 and 潮州小食 chaozhou xiaoche

These are the noodles of Chaozhou, with a peanut / sesame and ground beer sauce, a bit similar to Taiwan and Fujian Provinces dry (not soup) noodles.

The restaurant has two locations in Chinatown Manhattan. 80 Bayard St, and another just near Bowery west of it on Grand.
