I would like to have some champurrado but don't want to drive far. I already read the postings for champurrado in LA, and most of them seem to be a slight bit of a drive to logical places, like in East LA. Since I live in Torrance, I would consider anywhere in the South Bay as not "far." Also, of course, I would prefer fairly good champurrado over any that happens to be on the menu as an afterthought (if that's even possible for champurrado, of course; who knows, maybe it's not exactly water-down-able like "hot chocolate" at places like the Kettle, where it was simply a packet of Swiss Miss mixed with hot water -- dumb me, for expecting anything more, right?).
Of course, I do have plans to make champurrado myself, but first I just want to go somewhere not too far from my house, order some food, throw in a champurrado, and melt myself into the thick, chocolaty corniness.
Thank you very much in advance!!
p.s. -- I'm being all paranoid, but lest anyone think I was somehow equating hot chocolate on the menu at Kettle with actual champurrado, I was just using that as an example of seeing "hot chocolate" on a menu and naively believing it to be better than the reconstituted kind anyone can buy in a supermarket.
