My wife and I are making her first visit to Chicago in May and staying at the Sofitel on State & Chestnut. Would anyone like to offer an opinion, or suggest changes, to our heavily CH influenced dining plan?
Lunch – Al’s Italian Beef
Dinner – The Girl & The Goat
(skipping Breakfast, because we’ve got a lot of other eating to do)
Early Lunch – Gino’s East
Dinner – Alinea (if I can land a reservation)
Breakfast – m. henry
Lunch & Dinner – we’ve got Cubs tickets so the afternoon will be planned around the game, rather than food (always a bummer when your day is planned around something other than food, but c’mon…it’s Wrigley!)
I know that Grant Achatz is scheduled to open Next a few weeks before we’d like to go to Alinea, so I’m a little concerned that a distracted, or absent, chef could make for a very expensive meal that’s not up to standard.
