The Cat's Away! This Mouse Wants To Play! Errr... Eat, that is.

The wife and kids have gone on a trip, leaving me to fend for myself for all meals. Yes, I am a fine cook and will be eating at home often enough, but this leaves me with a golden opportunity to go to some restaurants sans kids, a rare luxury these days.

So, here's what I'm looking for: your suggestions for lunch and dinner, central to west end (a fairly broad geographical spread, say from DVP to Bloor West Village, no higher than St. Clair... I'd like to be able to bike or walk. I'm at College and Dufferin, so the closer the better.) I'm aiming for inexpensive to very inexpensive, with perhaps one 'treat' meal in there somewhere. 'Treat' would NOT be Splendido or Canoe grade, though: I'm aiming a little lower than that. My preferences are broad, and I'm looking for those places that are truly 'chowhoundish'... hidden gems that are often overlooked. Cuisine can be anything, with no dietary nor spice restrictions. The more adventurous, the better! I've already been to Swatow (#111... *num*) and plan on visiting Burrito Boys this evening.

Thanks in advance!
