Catering an East Bay engagement party at home with Chinese takeout

tummyache | Jan 6, 202007:52 PM

Hi, Looking for advice in throwing an engagement party at home (Piedmont) for about 40 guests. We were thinking of Peking Duck and supplementing with other dishes that would be good without having to heat up/keep warm. Places we have considered are: Great China in Berkeley (although their portions are on the smaller side), Hong Kong East Ocean in Emeryville, Pacific Lighthouse in Alameda, etc. Any tips for kinds of dishes to serve or places that would do a good job would be great. We're looking at a budget of roughly $500-600. Thanks!
