Why don't they make cast iron cookware the way they used to?

HabaneroLady | Apr 5, 201506:54 PM

Everywhere I turn, people seem to extol the virtues of old school cast iron cookware. In particular, people praise the smooth service that many pieces seem to have. And many people who use cast iron cookware seem to always be in search of pieces made by Griswold, Wagner and others from back in the day.

So the demand seems to be there. Why is no one bringing the old style cast iron back? Especially as cast iron seems to be enjoying a renaissance?
