Carla Hall Using Kickstarter To Fund Southern Kitchen In NYC

Carla Hall is using Kickstarter to fund her Nashville Hot Chicken joint in NYC.

When I first heard Hall is using Kickstarter, I was surprised, given her immense success on The Chew, and media in general.

"In the democratic spirit of hot chicken and meat-and-threes, she wants it to be a place where all are welcome. Guests will line up to order at a counter and average price for a meal at $15. That's part of the reason behind a Kickstarter announcement, she says, calling the project "a restaurant for the people."

I've thought Kickstarter was more for Mom and Pop's. A restaurant near me is trying to use Kickstarter to fund the outdoor patio to their new restaurant and that makes sense given they are not making big bank on t.v.

Anyway, Hall is most of the way to her $250K goal.
