The New Caribbean Plate in Falls Church City

Steve | Jun 11, 201711:53 AM     3

Caribbean Plate started off as a South American rotisserie chicken place that was a bit dull, despite the spiffy interior. Looks like there is new management and they have jettisonned the rotisserie for a Jamaican menu of brown stews, roti, escabeche, and curries.

I was in the mood for wings and got the jerk wings, which I knew in advance were baked, not smoked as it should be. The flavor was just right, though baked jerk wings are never my ideal. The peas and rice, plantains, and the cabbage were all spot-on.

I am encouraged enough to go back. I believe management is by the same folks that are responsilbe for Muffin Man in Lanham, MD. No Muffins in Falls Church, though.
