How do you like your Sodastream or other carbonated beverage maker? I am seriously looking into one. Had read some threads on here about it that were a few years back and have looked up reviews and recommendations.
So far I am thinking about the electric Sodastream One touch, the easier the better, and also the DrinkMate, because you can carbonate with syrup in the water and other beverages, but might not be as user friendly.
I would like to know what people think about theirs, do they still like it, is it holding up? Is there anything you don't like about it. Is it like a single serve coffee machine where you just make it at the time you want it and also take it on the go?
Also looking into a cola syrup with real sugar and with and without caffeine and also a lemon-lime and root beer, if any of you have a good source on something tasty that might be economical. I saw Monin might be good for the caffeine free cola but seems kind of pricey, but I only drink a can of pop with certain foods and only a couple times a week. My husband drinks Coke on a daily basis, at least two or three and he wants the caffeine.
Basically we're all on board here trying to eliminate high fructose corn syrup out of our diet, at least at home. Given the high consumption of soft drinks, I'm hoping the carbonated beverage maker would be more economical than driving a half hour away to Whole Foods to buy their cane cola soda for $5 a 12-pack.
