I have never made caramel popcorn before, but I have seen the recipes that use brown sugar, corn syrup, and baking soda for the caramel. I typically don't like the taste of caramel made from brown sugar, and I have some homemade caramels sitting here. Can I make caramel popcorn using homemade caramels (made from white sugar, butter, corn syrup, cream)? Would I need to reheat the caramel and add some baking soda? Would it be fine without baking soda? Anyone ever try this?
