Carambola/not good

Carol | Jul 9, 2005 11:21 PM

Tonight, tried it after several good reviews for the food. Food was good, service was good, the host/owner was pompous to say the least. We arrived after phoning about the need for reservations, not a problem. Upon arriving we asked the host...soon to see from the newspaper clipping in the doorway he was the open a bottle of Cakebread and provide 4 glasses AFTER he told us it would be a short wait...we were fine wiht that, it became 25 minutes, no opener, no owner, no hospitality. We sat, had our wine opened by a delightful waitress, Holly, ordered and sat...forever...we had our appetizers...had dinner after 1 hour 45 of our dinner was a cioppino with longistino...longistino was translucent, so underdone...they offered us dessert for him, we had been there for well over two hours...we declined and left. We would have left previous to our food being delivered, after we said something to the host/owner and he delivered absolutely no satisfaction...but our waitress's deuce next to us left because they had not received their food in any kind of timely manner...we shoud have left...owner cared not for any of our comments, now we have nothing but complaints. Most of our food was delicious, but certainly not worth waiting 2 hours for.
