Capirotada/Mexican Lenten Meal in LA/H'wood?

TimToyGeek | Feb 28, 2004 03:29 PM

My wife remembers eating a Lent-only specialty meal in several Mexican restaurants where she's from (San Bernardino) but none of them seem to serve it much anymore. Does anyone here know of any places in Hollywood, West LA or the Valley where they serve a traditional Mexican Lenten meal?

My wife informs me that it typically consists of shrimp cakes, beans and rice, a few other side dishes, and dessert is usually capirotada, which is a sort of bread pudding with cheddar cheese involved somewhere. If anyone knows about this, it'll be this board.

Thanks!

Tim
