campus eating update

Jean | Apr 11, 200309:03 PM     1

Saw the lengthy thread of several days back on this subject and noted that no one listed the dining room in the Parkside International Residential College at USC, at the corner of Vermont and Exposition, which is, I believe, open to the public (at least I didn't have to show any ID to get in). It was recently voted one of the top 10 eating establishments on any campus nationwide by the Wall Street Journal or some such publication (I don't quite remember). Anyway, I work at USC and had never heard of the place, so after reading the WSJ article I immediately went to check it out. The dining room is a buffet style establishment with a number of different stations, each serving a different type of ethnic cuisine. The food was quite good for campus fare, though unfortunately some of the dishes were no longer hot after sitting on the counter in pre-served portions. It's no Bastide (ate there two nights ago and am still rhapsodizing, but that's a different post), but for $6.95 all you can eat it's pretty darn fine.
