Campanile / New Years review

kra81 | Jan 3, 2006 07:19 PM

Hi guys.... went to Campanile on New Years Eve and was really disappointed. It was a prix fixe with 4 courses... none of which blew me away.
to start i had the bibb lettuce salad... so boring. truly just bibb lettuce with a lemon vingerette. nothing special.
second course was a pumpkin ravioli. i love pumpkin anything and am generally not hard to please but they added bacon to the sauce and dressed the ravioli with a piece of bacon on top of each.... the bacon flavor was so strong that you didn't even taste the pumpkin. very disappointing.
for the entree i had prime rib. i was charred on the outside and cooked perfectly medium rare on the inside but the charred flavor distracted from the taste of the meat....
dessert was totally forgetable... meyer lemon pudding cake had no flavor at all.
i was so disappointed! i had been there for brunch and had a great meal but won't be going back for dinner.
did anyone else go to new years? curious if it was just an off night.
