Caffe Macaroni report

Mil Mascaras | Dec 22, 200410:14 AM

Stopped into the tiny Caffe Macaroni last night.
Overall I was not extremely impressed, I may go back one last time to try a different dish.

I wanted the Swordfish, but they were out, so I opted for the Mahi Mahi special.

The Mahi Mahi special in Puttanesca sauce. The whole dish seemed really salty, probably due to the achovies, but overall all I tasted was salt. Also had the Fennel and Potato soup, same issue, very salty, the soup's flavors were ok.

I think I liked the bread with the dipping sauce.

I wish I was in the mood for some hearty meat, maybe the other specials they had were better; pasta in a goat ragu sauce, sausage and ox-tails over polenta, lamb shank.....
It did not cost a lot, $30 for the fish, soup, 1 glass Pinot Grigio, espresso, and choclate dessert served in a shot glass? .
