Cafe for All Seasons in West Portal

I went this morning for their weekend brunch with my father. It is often hard to take him out since he has limited mobility, but I always find Cafe for All Seasons pretty accomodating. Also, the place is fairly large and we didn't have to wait at all today at 10:30 am. They always serve freshly made muffins with jam when you are seated - a nice treat. Also, their coffee is quite strong, which I like.

I had the Cafe Eggs Benedict with the hollandaise on the side. The poached eggs were served over buttered french bread and ham. I rarely order eggs benedict, but I have been on a poached egg kick and decided to try these. The hollandaise was very good - although my experience with the sauce is pretty limited. I noted a slight tang - lemon perhaps.

I decided to let my father splurge with scrambled eggs, pepper bacon, sausage links and potatoes served with whole wheat toast (buttered). The peppered bacon was very peppery.

Total for 2 with coffe was $29 w/o tip - a little steep I thought. Nevertheless, it is a nice place w/o the usual trendy brunch crowd or the wait.
