I had lunch at Cafe Ross, in downtown Ross (Marin County), the first time I've been there. It's a small place, with a nice patio in back, run by the owner, a very pleasant young man who has owned it for six years. I had the ham and brie sandwich - black forest ham, brie, peppered-honey-thyme dijon, arugula, dried cranberries, on a ciabata roll - and it was both very good and very large. The side green salad, tossed with a vinaigrette, was also excellent. All for $8.50. The owner, also named Ross, said he bakes all the pastries every morning. There is also a large coffee menu. This place is a small hidden gem.
