Cafe Poulet musings

Ilaine | Jul 17, 2004 08:02 PM

Early dinner at Cafe Poulet, but that's sort of tangential to what I am musing about.

In that same strip mall, Guajillo, Rays the Steaks, Cafe Bistro, maybe some others?

And I was thinking to myself, well, the mezze is ok, some of it is pretty nice, but, would I ever actually drive here again just to eat here? No.

Physically not comfortable, three of us crowded at a two-top while all three four-tops just sat there unused for over an hour with "reserved" signs." Not another soul in the place but the waiter. Would I like it better if we actually had one of the coveted four-tops? Probably won't drive again to find out.

But, if it was walking distance, sure.

Lebanese Taverna, on the other hand, I'd drive 20 miles to eat at.

The decision is ultimately intensely personal, but how to signal this to others?

Oh well, that's why we post here, I guess.

But -- how many just recommend a place because it's easy to get to?
