Just to try something different, we went over to Cafe 15, the hotel restaurant at the Hotel Sofitel on 15th Street. Everyone on my party had an incredibly enjoyable meal.
The highlight was the frog legs appetizer. The meat was tender and succulent, having been sauteed in a light sauce that complemented the flavor. They are served with the bones upright, inviting you to use your fingers, and they really were finger-licking good.
We found service was attentive, although it was mid-week and not particularly busy. The wine list is too short for my taste, and given that this is a French restaurant, it lists surprisingly few French wines. And when I pointed out that they brought a later year of the Bordeaux I offered, they went back and found the right year. I always wonder about that kind of switch.
