I know there was a long butter thread recently, but there was no mention of Polish butter (maslo). I went to a bunch of Polish grocers recently, and they all carried several brands of maslo. I suppose this is just the Polish word for butter, but something gave me the feeling that it was somehow different. Anyone know anything about it? The brand Mlekovita was always recommended. It's relatively inexpensive if it's really good butter.
More to the point, I'm thinking about making Joe H's risotto this weekend, and am wondering if this stuff would be good? I could use Plugra, of course, but I can get a better deal on the French Presidente or a Swiss brand called Wuthrich (with umlaut over the "u"). Does anyone have any experience with these? I've seen favorable comment on here about the Presidente, but is there any reason it shouldn't be used in risotto?
