butcher's cafe scoop

I was sitting at lunch today (little sushi shop on Sansom between 15th and 16th) with a friend from work trying to enjoy a nice conversation.

A rude guy strides up next to me, cramming my space, and yelling (through the window) at his son across the street to pull up so they wouldn't get a ticket in a half-parking space.

He then proceeds to start jabbering away loudly on his mobile phone (pet peeve of mine, phones during mealtime). I try to tune him out until he mentions that he just bought a restaurant in the city. One of his partners dropped out and he's looking for another financial partner.

As was written in the paper - they've hired a chef from across the street at Sabrina's a place the owner said "does 500 brunches a weekend." The concept is "inspred by Pastis" in NY - indoor and outdoor seating, and I would assume a French brasserie type menu.

So I've got built-in bias against new Butcher's because one of the owners seems pretty obnoxious - but the concept sounds like it could be a good one for the neighborhood.
