"Are there any Burmese/Myanmarese restaurants in the area?? I knew of one off the green line ("Huntington", was it?'s been a while), but when we went to check, it was now a Shawarma joint."

I was down that way a few days ago. The Burmese place has been gone for years (we ate there several times). The current place is a college joint with somebody's name on it -like "Joe's Place" or such. There are a couple of Shawarma places close by down Huntington Ave. Their Shawarma looked pathetic on an electric vertical grill. Given the options one might as well eat at Burger King down there :- )

There was a small Burmese restaurant just off Washington St in Chinatown but that has been gone for a year. You might like the Penang near where the Chinatown Burmese place used to be. Besides the food, its hip.

I know of no other Burmese restaurants in Greater Boston.
