Since I've posted questions in the past asking where to find freshly roasted coffee beans in Chester County, I thought I'd pass along this recent find of mine. Okay -- it's not in Chester County, it's in Delaware County, but for some coffee lovers it might be worth a trip. Just to keep things in perspective, it's about a 10-minute drive from Pete's Produce in Westtown to Burlap and Bean.
I was just there for the third time. There's a coffee roasting machine right there in the store and I'm told they roast coffee five days a week. One thing I really appreciate is that the roasting date is written on every bag of coffee on the shelf, so you know how long the coffee's been in the package. Also, I find their prices very reasonable. I'm not sure if the coffee is all priced the same, but I paid $13.95 a pound for each of the two different coffees I chose today -- a full city roast Sumatra Mandheling and a city roast Papua New Guinea.
BTW, for those of you who like to roast your own coffee, they also sell quite a variety of unroasted green coffee beans. http://www.burlapandbean.com
