Is the Burgundy Region like Chianti?

zoemaslow | Nov 13, 201507:13 AM     28

Hi there, my husband and I are planning our first trip to France. We're planning on renting a car, but unsure of which areas. When we were in Italy, we found the Chianti region to be a bit over-hyped--too many tourists, not fantastic food in the small towns, and we wished we'd spent more time in Montalcino/Montepulciano. My question is whether the Burgundy region is similar to Chianti... Should we focus our time on a different area? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
