Buona Sera in Redondo Beach-brief review

A friend took me to dinner at Buona Sera in Redondo Beach a couple of nights ago and I was very pleasantly surprised. Good restaurants are not that plentiful in the South Bay and I think this one is worth a try. I would definitely go back. It's located in Riviera Village.

They were serving arancini as a complimentary appetizer that evening--very good. My entree was a veal chop with mushroom sauce, one of the specials. I had asked for medium and the chop was cooked just right and very moist. The mushroom sauce didn't overpower the meat and it wasn't overthickened, a problem I've encountered elsewhere. It was served with baby vegetables, including grilled radicchio, and the servings were generous.

Although I didn't see the bill, I imagine the veal entree was $28-$30. The service was quietly attentive--overall a very nice experience.
