"Bulk" Wines on Argon?

I've been pushing my wines around for years, sparging barrels and bottles, using argon. And we've all seen the nano-quantity, "Preserv-O-Squirt" ampoules for home use, and the occasional glassed bottles at restos that look like they're undergoing hemodialysis...

But what do the cognoscenti think of the growing restaurant practice of keeping larger containers of better wines under argon and "on tap"?

It would seem to me that, handled right, this might be a promising step in the democratization of wine.
