Two budget minded tourists will be visiting in May, and while we will mostly be dining at less expensive establishments we hope to have a couple of 'spurge' meals. We're thinking Lupa, maybe DB bistro, but I really want to try Gramercy Tavern. My question is this, before I make month in advance reservations how comparable is the front Tavern room? I know it is less expensive, but how much so? Also, how does the menu and food compare, i.e. will we be cheating ourselves on the GT experience (it may be a while before we are able to get back). Also, is the Tavern room more casual in terms of environment, dress etc.? Thanks in advance for your help.
