So I went to the Buca Di Beppo in San Diego's Gaslamp District for my birthday dinner on Sunday afternoon. There were eight people in our party and it was a lot of fun. I kinda wished that we'd been at the Pope's table(people who have been to Buca Di Beppo will know what I'm talking about)
First off you get a tour of the kitchen(they have a chef's table in the kitchen-actually it was more of a chef's booth ;)on the way to your table.
We were seated at our table and took our sweet time figuring out what we wanted. For starters we had the Caesar salad and bruschetta(yummy!).
Our waiter was very nice, very attentive to what we wanted(he had no problems catering to the 2 young children in our party)The decor at Buca Di Beppo is what I would call ecletic Italian-style(again, if you've been to Buca Di Beppo you know what I'm talking about ;) )
For the main course we ordered spaghetti with meat sauce, chicken cacciatore, which is on top of a TON of mashed potatoes, and a pepperoni pizza, all of which was delicious, but we wound up taking a LOT home with us. I would definitely go back again, especially if it were for a birthday, and definitely with a big group.
