Went out this evening for my daughter's birthday to the Brooklyn Steakhouse Co. (formerly Jerusalem Steakhouse on Avenue M and East 14th Street in Brooklyn) and, at the waiter's recommendation, ordered the short rib (yes, a single rib, $33.00, about 3" x 1" x 1" X 1/2"). The first one I was able to make a single cut into because two thirds of the serving was gristle. I sent it back to the kitchen. Then a second rib was brought out. It was missing the rib. This one was very soft...because it was all fat. Choking down the first slimy piece I turned over the remaining meat in my dish and it was permeated with fat over, under and through. When I showed it to the host/mashgiach he took it back to the kitchen and came back saying that he was told in the kitchen that ribs are a fatty cut of meat and returned the same globby piece to me. I asked him to return it to the kitchen as it was inedible; truly gross.
When he returned from the kitchen he told me the chef "wanted to make it up" to me and asked if I wanted to have a dessert. I refused telling the waiter that I came for dinner, not dessert.
The bottom line, I was charged the full amount for eating one mouthful of fat.
With so many great places to eat in Brooklyn I urge you NOT waste your money.
