Before heading out on a road trip to Redding, I stopped at Broadway Market for the first time. At 7:45am on a Tuesday, the parking lot was almost full and many customers were milling around inside. The deli counter was busy. I noticed that most folks were grabbing a breakfast sandwich from the self-serve hot box, so I did too. English muffin, bacon, cheese and egg for $3.25, what's not to like?

My real mission there was to purchase a #SonomaStrong tee-shirt. They're $20 and a portion of the proceeds supports the fire department.

Besides the deli, the market has a full produce section and a butcher counter. Guess I did not expect a full-service grocer in a small footprint. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

If you're coming up to Sonoma from San Francisco or the East Bay, Broadway Market will be on your left as you approach the plaza. It would be a good stop to provision before a day of wine tasting.
